i registered today for the inaugural "
team ortho minneapolis marathon" scheduled for may 31st. i am pretty stoked about participating in this event with former classmates. it will be fun to visit and it sounds like an awesome event. i look forward to experimenting with a different marathoning strategy for this one (still brewing one up).

Rob, from looking at your daily miles, it looks like you might be at the Maryville Marathon. If so, look for me! Since our chance meeting at the Frisco, it seems like we are old friends, at least I read your blog and think I know you. Blad you are running well.
Spirit Flower
oh - spirit flower - i just rearranged my event schedule. to participate in this event in minneapolis and cover the expense of travel i moved my june and july events of the schedule. i will have to catch you at another event. i will continue to follow your adventures via your blog. grace and peace - skinny bear.
Skinny Bear (I like your handle!), I just entered the Heartland Prairie 50 miler in October. The races closes soon so enter if you think you might want to do it. I entered because I discovered how long I can extend running if I take walk breaks, especially on the up hill. This year's theme is "Spirit of the Prairie" so of course "Spirit Flower" must be there to celebrate her 50th year of life. Now, if I can just keep from being stupid until then!

those walk segments are like a secret weapon :) glad to hear that you are registered to take on the 50 miler - i am guessing that you will have an awesome experience.
i am presently putting the 50 and 100 milers on hold for a bit. i have opted to see what i can do with regards to the speed journey. i am dreaming of getting back 6 minute mile pace and being able to carrying that through a marathon (it might take me a couple of years to get there).
for now i am enjoying being in marathon shape and will be pursuing marathoning as a hobby for a few months - while i am attempting to bring back the speed.
pretty awesome that you will be blossoming on the prairie for the 50 year celebration - a mile per year.
