i left running on the shelf for the week and i am guessing that i will for two more weeks. i want my shin to be strong for the miles i have planned in the near future. i had a buzz all week from the "little rock half-marathon" experience. part of that experience included meeting a few "marathon maniacs" at the expo on saturday. i loved the camaraderie i witnessed regarding the "maniacs". i spent some time this week on the "marathon maniacs" web site and in the process i came up with a plan on how i could meet the entry level criteria in a timely fashion. my plan has placed another event on my schedule: "the frisco fifty" on 04.18.2009.  completing this event and "the flying pig" marathon on 05.03.2009 will equal two marathons in a three week period, which is one of the ways to accomplish a bronze level marathon streak.

i am excited about "the frisco fifty".  i think it will be cool to do my ultramarathon debut prior to my marathon debut.  my long run best is 22.5 miles, so 31 miles on 04.18.2009 will equal a lifetime achievement.  the 18th can't arrive too quickly as far as i am concerned.  i am looking forward to enjoying a few hours of running on the frisco trail.

too funny chris :) all who know me know that i am mister obsession and all are thankful that my obsession is not focused on drugs (or something along those lines).

when i was doing some biking this week i started thinking that in a couple of years i might be interested in going after the ironman :) at this point i don't have the finances for that (especially the bike). i am going to have to find a way to finance all my running goals at this point. maybe if i can get more efficient - saucony might be interested in helping me out :)

thanks for the encouragement. 38 DAYS UNTILL THE FLYING PIG :)
