excellent week! i got to run again and it felt great. i enjoyed my three mile test run on the track and running in the "little rock half-marathon" was a blast. i had some discomfort in the shin return at about mile 10 and my shin was sore for a couple hours after the race. i will be putting running on the shelf for two to three weeks so my shin can totally heal. next racing event is "the flying pig marathon" on 5.3.2009 and i believe i will be ready.

Way to go, man. Dude, you have lost some serious weight eh? That's terrific. I'm going to have to pick up my pace to hang with you at the Pig! Let that leg heal now!
Peace out,
thanks chris. i am down 55 since my return to running and 60 from my summer 2008 high.
here is my present plan for the "flying pig"
first 13 miles: 8:45 pace that will include 60 second walk segments every mile (i think an 8:15 running pace would accomplish this).
second 13.2 mile: 7:45 pace with no walk segments.
it is possible that my buddy scott might not be able to run. he is letting an injury heal right now and he is losing some confidence about being able to go 26.2 (but i hope that is not the case :( )
Hey Rob, did you just add the Frisko 50K in April to your event schedule? I remember you talking about the Frisko trail, and running part of it last year. So, did you add it so you can join the Marathon Maniacs after completing the Flying Pig?
Also, when do you start training runs again?
dad: wow you are good! :)
i did just add it and you are right that it has to do with meeting the criteria to be a "marathon maniac" :)
i intend to run it at a long run pace with walk intervals every mile.
i will be adding running back into the schedule in about a week.
