training 01.26.2009 - 02.01.2009


01.26.2009: 5 miles of walking at wilson's creek national battlefield in republic, mo.: 1 hour, 18 minutes and 18 seconds

01.27.2009: 14 miles of running in republic, mo.: 2 hours, 13 minutes and 40 seconds

01.28.2009: 3 miles of walking in republic, mo.: 48 minutes and 10 seconds

01.29.2009: 6 miles of running in republic, mo.: 54 minutes and 8 seconds

01.30.2009: rest day

01.31.2009: 18 miles of running at south creek trail in springfield, mo.: 3 hours, 7 minutes and 6 seconds

02.01.2009: 3 miles of walking in republic, mo.: 47 minutes

total running miles for the week: 38 miles
total running miles for 2009: 192 miles

this was an adventures week of running.  i really enjoyed the 14 mile winter wonderland run on 1.27 (the picture above is from after that run).  the 18 mile long run on 1.31 was very, very challenging.  my marathon training partner scott and i ran the distance in the slush.  it totally wore me out.  i slept for 11 hours that night to recover.  i am really starting to feel fit and that is boosting my confidence for the race events i have on the calendar for 2009.

Great stuff man. I've let the winter weather kick my butt a bit...so I have some ground to make up before the flying pig in May!!
