04.21.2009: a full day became a rest day. while helping my son's soccer team warm-up, i experienced some major pain in my left groin. this is the third time i have had issues with this groin. following the frisco my body felt sore and fragile, like something was just waiting for an opportunity to rip or tear. hopefully i remember to be more cautious after "the flying pig".

04.23.2009: 3 miles of walking in republic, mo.: 53 minutes and 5 seconds
04.24.2009: 2 miles of walking at wilson's creek national battlefield in republic, mo.: 34 minutes and 30 seconds

i was thankful that i was able to walk, but it does not do it for me like running. really looking forward to the "flying pig" marathon. the plan is to use the first 20 miles as a warm-up, and then hopefully be able to "race" the final 10k. i am committed to being more patient after learning where i am presently at during the "frisco fifty".
