03.05.2009: 1 mile swim - breast stroke (47 minutes and 17 seconds) and 30 minute elliptical session
03.06.2009: 1 mile swim - breast stroke (49 minutes and 56 seconds) and 30 minute elliptical session
03.07.2009: 4 miles of roller skiing at j.r. martin park in republic, mo.: 22 minutes and 12 seconds
03.08.2009: 1 mile swim - breast stroke (48 minutes and 39 seconds) and 1 hour elliptical session

i practiced self-control this week and stayed off of my healing shin. i was concerned about losing some of the fitness i have worked hard to acquire and i am pleased that via my swimming and other conditioning i believe i have kept my fitness (if not increased it). the roller skiing is not the greatest because my skate rides right on the location of my injury. the shin is improving and i am looking forward to some running this coming week. the plan is 3 miles on thursday to test out the leg and then 13.1 miles on sunday at the "little rock half-marathon" (possibly a warm-up mile too). i am guessing that i will likely put running back on the shelf after "little rock" for about two more weeks. the goal is to get the shin totally healed up.
