training 02.23.2009 - 03.01.2009

02.23.2009: 4 miles of walking in republic, mo.: 56 minutes and 11 seconds

02.24.2009: 7 miles of running in nixa, mo.: 51 minutes and 49 seconds. this was a track session to build my confidence. did a warm-up mile in 8:23 and then dropped into boston qualifying pace and went the next 6 miles: 7:21, 7:18, 7:15, 7:21, 7:20, and 6:47. felt great.

02.25.2009: 4 miles of walking in republic, mo.: 54 minutes and 41 seconds

02.26.2009: 12 miles of trail running at wilson's creek national battlefield in republic, mo.: 1 hour, 54 minutes and 19 seconds. injury in left shin emerged at mile ten :(

02.27.2009: 12 miles of roller skiing at j.r. martin park in republic, mo.: 1 hour, 10 minutes and 8 seconds

02.28.2009: rest day

03.01.2009: elliptical session: 1 hour and 20 minutes

total running miles for the week: 19 miles
total running miles for 2009: 316 miles

this week of training started on a great note and ended on a sad one. my session at the nixa track had me very excited about my fitness progress. i am presently injured. i am registered to run the "little rock" half-marathon on 03.15.2009 and i am hoping to be mended by then. i am intending to not log any running or walking miles until the race. i am hoping to spend the next two weeks roller skiing and maintaining my fitness.
