22.5 mile adventure run
i had it in my heart to run twenty miles today on the horse trails at wilson's creek national battlefield. during the first 10 mile loop i was getting a bit over-heated and decided to run to my car and drop off a layer. when i got to my car i realized i was locked out (i had the ignition key but not the door key). i thought about running home and then i thought i would do another loop and see if i could use the visitor center phone to call home. while i was running my second loop, i started thinking that i might be able to surpass my old distance record of 22 miles. so when i got back to my car, i passed it and started heading home on the road. once i got 22.5 miles under my belt, i was done. i walked the last mile. during this run i did employ the secret-jeff-galloway-freshness-weapon, i.e., i inserted 1 minute walk intervals at every mile mark. i now have this wild oat sowed and will go back to my marathon preparation training plan. :)
